Dear Reader,
Janet: An Army of One is a Team Fear novella that has been a long time coming, and not just in terms of the wait. In the Team Fear series, Janet is the mother of Jake Fowler (his story is coming in March 2022). She’s owned and managed the training camp they call The Manor for years. She raised her son as a single mom. She could take down men twice her size without breaking a sweat, and while her strength and personality are larger-than-life, Janet herself is petite and reserved. She is filled with lovely contradictions.
Janet is one of those mysterious strong women who surround us on the day to day. The book is dedicated to those strong women. The women who get more done than we can comprehend. The women who raise their children on their own. The women who kick ass and take names. And that’s what Janet is set to do. Kick some ass. Given her history and training, she really is an Army of one. She will risk it all to protect the men of Team Fear from her biggest mistake.
I hope you enjoy her story. Oh, at the end of the novella is a short preview of Jake’s origin story for Clash of the Teams (March 2022).

JANET: An Army of One
JANET FOWLER trains others in hand-to-hand defense and firearms, but her knowledge of explosives is what she needs to combat ROGER AMES, the unscrupulous operative who manipulated and used her, leaving her a sixteen-year-old single mother. Now the son is a grown soldier with his own battles, but when Janet’s past with Ames intersects with her son’s mission, she will no longer stay in a support role.
DR. ADAM BRANSON took an oath to do no harm, but when Janet leaves their secure compound to correct the mistakes of her past, Branson must choose between protecting the woman he loves or obeying his oath and watching her die.
This Team Fear novella continues the fight between Team Fear and the elusive members of The Alliance. The final battle begins in March 2022 with Clash of the Teams. Preorder now!
And now, for something completely different.
I come from a long line of strong women. My grandmother was a single mom during the depression after my grandfather died. My mother was a single mom after my father’s car accident and death some years later. I am a single mom, following unwittingly in their footsteps. If you’re interested in something a bit different from my fiction, here’s a piece I wrote about the Legacy of single motherhood.
